More planning tips: Planning for Hospital Discharge

There are a few things you should keep in mind when it’s time to be discharged from our medical center.

• Plan in advance for a ride home from the hospital.
• Purchase your baby's car seat in advance—and if possible, have it fitted at the Saint Elizabeth SECURE car seat fitting station. See our section on Keeping Baby Safe.
• Select your baby's "going home" outfit and wash it in mild detergent.
• Arrange for help at home the first few days after you are discharged from the hospital.
